A good first step is a brief consultation or an initial session where we clarify what you’d like help with, what therapy can look like, and whether my approach feels like a fit for your goals.
What is Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy?
Prolonged Exposure (PE) is an evidence-based therapy for PTSD that helps people reduce trauma-related symptoms through structured, gradual exposure to trauma memories and safe reminders, along with skills to help you feel more in control. (PE is widely researched and commonly used for PTSD.)
How long does therapy take?
It depends on your goals and what you’re working on. Some people come for short-term, focused work; others prefer longer-term therapy. We’ll revisit progress regularly and adjust as needed.
What can I expect in the first session?
We’ll talk about what brings you in, your history as it relates to your concern, what you’d like to change, and what you’ve tried so far. We’ll also discuss a plan and answer any questions about the therapy process.
Do I have to commit to coming in weekly?
No, we can work together to find a schedule that fits your needs and goals.
What if I want to come in just one or two times to help with current issues I'm having?
You are welcome to come in for a solution focused session, just let me know when we talk for a consult so I can adjust my approach to accommodate your needs.
